She had the item, now she just had to deliver it.
She was so close, she could almost taste it. Her stomach had been in knots, she knew how much was riding on this mission. Why did Garrett trust a new recruit with something so important? Maybe it was because if she got caught, she wouldn't be able to tell the police anything important. She didn't know what the machine was, why it was important, she only knew that she had to deliver it to a woman behind a mirror.
She felt the warmth in her hoodie, reassured by Vesper's continued presence. The zubat couldn't begin to understand how important this mission was. She hadn't had the heart to explain to him the stakes. Put simply - Vesper was going to remain a member of Team Rocket no matter the circumstances...Addie might not.
Addie wasn't familiar with this city. She wasn't familiar with this region as a whole, honestly. At 18, she spent all the money she'd stolen on a ticket for a ship to the unknown, and it was the unknown she'd found. Pretty unfufilling, honestly, except for the obnoxious sleeping pokemon hanging from her jacket's inside pocket.
She walked aimlessly along the streets, trying not to appear suspicious, or too lost, but the nervousness was beginning to grow in the pit of her stomach and her pacing grew more frantic. Everything in the city looked so big and and shiny, where was this supposed dark alleyway! Broad daylight was not her friend.

"OOF!"
Amity's books tumbled onto the dirty concrete as the jostle of the crowd thrust her small body forwards through the library door, propelling her into the throng of commuters and sending her sprawling on the sidewalk. Gritting her teeth, she glared at their backs as they meshed into the rest of the crowd and disappeared between a pair of men in darkened suits.
Ugh, thanks a lot guys! No, no. Really! No I'm fine, thanks!
Jasper hovered at eye level, carefully inspecting her body for damage before floating over to the scattered texts and propping one up for her to see. The Effect of Gravity on Defensive Technique.
"Oh, shut up Jas!"
With a sigh the girl began to gather her books. Reaching first for her trusty dayplanner, she then collected a number of thick volumes that she had been studying lately. two tomes on battle technique, a list of pokemon and their preferred foods, and the latest copy of her favorite fantasy romance novel, Love Lost.
"OOF!" Down she goes again, glasses slipping off this time and slamming the ground with an audible clink. Retrieving them quickly, Amity backstepped into the library's adjoining alleyway. This was no use! She was just going to have to wait.
Taking out her planner, she ran a pale finger down to the time. She should be home by now, making dinner. Whatever. With a halfhearted sigh she scribbled "WAITING IN ALLEY" on the timeslot and sat down on the cool concrete floor.
When the picture appeared in her head she started a bit, and then her eyes grew wide. A hunched pale girl, white blonde hair falling like straw to her shoulders, the ghostly figure of Jas trailing curiously behind her.
"JAS! DON'T YOU EVEN --- GET BACK -- STOOOP!!!"

She was beginning to feel hopeless, like maybe she should just call Garrett...but he hated being contacted, especially by a newbie, the "little rattata" as he called her. Despite the warmth of her hoodie and the humid breathing of the zubat against her ribs, she felt a chill down her spine. Nervousness. She was going to have to call Garrett, going to have to deal with his soft growling voice and too-sweet words that were more unnerving than any outright threat.
But the chill down her spine, it wasn't from nervousness. She felt a strange presence...and a stirring in her jacket. She spun around and - "stoOOP!!!" She was face to face with a mischeviously grinning shadow, but before she had a chance to realize that it was pokemon rather than person before her, her fist swung straight for the curious face.
And passed right through it. Her arm felt cold as it intersected with the ethereal creature.
She wanted to scream, but she didn't (she was still more afraid of the police than ghosts), but by this time, a naughty zubat had scratched his way up out of the hoodie. Hooked on Addie's shirt, the little bat let out a scream of high-pitched fury at being awoken in the middle of the day.
Addie and Amity might not have understoo the finer points of what Vesper had said, but to Jas, it was clearly "FUCK YOU."
Addie was about thirty seconds away from using her chuck taylor's for their intended purpose, getting the hell out of dodge. The small item was still in her pocket and Vesper hadn't started flying yet....she could hold on to both and make it out of it her fine.
